Welcome to the KIT notice for Term 3 Week 6! We are over half way through, and have a really busy time leading to the end of term.
Student teachers We welcome two amazing student teachers into our community until the end of term - Miss B (Johanna) who is visiting from Germany, and Miss Martinez (Vera) who is on her second year placement from UC. Wellington We are continuing to work hard with our fundraising to reduce the costs of the Wellington camp, and alongside the students are starting to book in the activities to make the camp a fun-filled and challenging experience for all. Thank you to all families that have returned their cow poo bingo money. As soon as all squares are sold we will let Sophie the cow loose in the paddock!! Results will be posted on the Cow Poo Bingo tab of this website. Please return money and the list of ticket purchasers as soon as possible. Please sell as much bacon and baking paper etc. as you can - orders need to be back by Monday 9th September and payment made by Tuesday 10th September. The Fundraising Committee (previously the Ball Committee) are organising two fundraising car washes and sausage sizzles on Sunday 8th September and Sunday 22nd September between 10.30 and 4.30. Attached is a link to a sign up sheet - we are hoping that all families who are coming to Wellington will help out with these events, especially those that have not been involved so far in our fundraising activities. If you are not able to get there but your children can, we can arrange help with transport. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zyN3RJF8iF98maxAg1ZlKnCF19-lELK9l8kML9-LbQc/edit#gid=0 Tennis This week the students have had some tennis taster sessions from the Bishopdale Tennis Club, and information on joining the Bishopdale and West Melton clubs will be coming home this week. Cantamaths Two teams competed in the CantaMaths competition on Wednesday night at Horncastle Arena - for the year 8s Cru, Sophie, Joe and Josh, and for the year 7s Zoe, Alex, Meredith and Luke. Well done to both teams for your grit, determination and problem solving skills. They all competed with vitality against the other schools taking part in this competition. Speeches We are busy writing speeches ready for the Ellesmere Speech Competition which is taking place at West Rolleston School on Monday. Your children have shown creativity, personality and great oral language skills in the writing and delivery of their speeches, and we have been very impressed with their work. Two students will be going forward to this competition, and we wish them the best of luck!
