As I sit here writing this notice I am wondering where has the year gone? It seems not so long ago that the new start of the school year had begun. After recent tragic events we hope that you and your family are safe and well.
Next week our second camp group goes on camp. Mrs Jenkins has organised the students to take their gear list home as well as their food lists. Please ensure your child shows and explains the reasoning for the items on the list. Hopefully it will remain dry! Next week Mr T and 17 students from West Melton School will be going to the Canterbury Duathlon. We wish all students the best of luck as we are sure they will do us proud. We are promoting being the best we can be and it's great to see these students challenge themselves against other students from around Canterbury. We have seen a real positive shift around having a growth mindset which has enabled the students to be more resilient and learn from their misconceptions. A reminder that dates for the Wellington Camp is from the 25th- 29th November. If you are able to assist please could you let either Aaron or Anna know so we can organise our parent helpers. If you could let us know if you are interested by 5th of April that would be great. Inquiry- just to inform our community parents the students' Inquiry around our Wednesday bus safety has been resolved in the short term through the students' hard work. Firstly I would like to thank the Board of Trustees who organised another bus for us in Week 7 so we could travel safely. The Ministry has now decided to fund another bus for us permanently so each week will be able to split into the two buses. This does not solve the big problem that we recognise and students will be given an opportunity to make a difference nationally. Great work team!
