It's been a fast pace of activity in WMI since our last KIT Notice, with our students stepping up to a range of challenges.
Last Monday saw a group of our students competing successfully in the Zones Cross Country. Tuesday was the Rotary Club quiz where Meredith and Alex competed against 19 other schools at this awesome evening at Lincoln University. On Thursday 25 WMI leaders took part in the National Young Leaders Day event at Horncastle Arena which involved inspirational speakers and activities, and networking with other young leaders from across the area. Goal setting interviews on Thursday and Friday allowed us to share your child's learning and personal goals and next steps in their learning. Today 25 students are taking part in the hockey and football winter tournament in Rolleston and we wish them all the best at this awesome event. Financial Literacy Inquiry 'Dragons' Den' interviews have been completed and all teams have had their business projects approved and funded where requested. The learners are now working towards having their product or service ready for Gala Day which is planned for Friday of Week 9. Please check in with your child about their Inquiry progress, offer support where needed but remember that they are effectively running their business and need to be accountable for their business decisions. Dates for your diary Tuesday June 11th - WMI open afternoon / evening 3-4.30 and 7-8.30 (your child may be involved in presenting to prospective students during the event) Friday 14th June - School Disco Wednesday 19th June - Canterbury Cross Country Friday 28th June (TBC) - Financial Literacy Inquiry Gala Day Please email Anna or Aaron if you didn't get an appointment for Goal Setting, so that we can catch up in the next two weeks - thanks. Have a great weekend Regards, Anna and Aaron
